The Multilingual-Cultural Club
It is an educational club that aims to promote and facilitate the learning of the languages and the learning of cultural experiences employing them as a powerful tool to enhance the development of personal and interpersonal skills of students.
Therefore, we are delighted to be involved in
supporting, collaborating and creating our own initiatives for both individuals
and society that help to develop positivity and a caring attitude for
a healthy and functional society.
Currently we are working on two interesting
initiatives:
1. Building an active and constructive community
By working/collaborating together with the same view. “Las Caritas Felices” is the hand-drawn, personalised T-shirt of Multilingual Cultural Club, and are a way for us to use our enthusiasm, motivation, charisma, creativity and originality to grab the attention of our sponsors, supporters etc., but also to attract future collaborators such as volunteers, students or professionals (teachers, educators, pedagogues, artists, singers, painters, musicians, writers and so on) to form a network, a community that is interested in becoming a part of this initiative. It is the first step to letting us know each other, working as a team and becoming stronger.
2. The Multilingual-Cultural Club Corner
Another initiative that we are working on is divided in two steps: one is to open a Reading Corner Area where the students are exposed to books in different languages, to promote their curiosity. Our aims would be to use second-hand books (that have been donated to the Multilingual-Cultural Club by our supporters) from different areas such as primary and secondary schools, but also from the local community, educational services and more. The second step would be Fostering Learning Activities such as talks, workshops, cultural activities and online courses where the students can learn, develop and practice their reading, speaking, listening, writing skills, and more. We work with a Mindfulness approach, this is, providing sessions where the students focus on their experiences directly with their full care and attention, practice experiencing the sensations of the present moments in as much as possible, bringing curiosity to those experiences with a non-judgmental attitude.
All of us have so much to learn and so much
to share, so be part of our community and join us!
On the World Book Day 2022, we are delighted to be launching the Multilingual Cultural Club Book Corner at Griffeen Valley Educate Together National School in Dublin-Ireland.
