• It is very well known that learning a second language or a language target is much easier if you start when you are young.
• Because we strongly believe that the acquisition of a language – and the learning of a culture – is a solid source of power and richness for any individual, we therefore believe that the child has a right to learn and experience it at any age.
• Ludic Activities and Play are essential for the child’s development because they help the child to develop logical thinking, creativity, fantasy, imagination and curiosity. Plus, interactions and relationships are the foundations of a child’s social skills. Therefore, we integrate the learning of the language and culture through ludic activities – including play and didactic activities – into each session of our club to encompass the maximum potentiality of the child.
• The founder of this club understands the needs and the rights of children to develop their potentialities by giving them the opportunity to learn and discover. It all started when her son, a multilingual child, started Primary School in Dublin (a multicultural place). She encountered that kids were naturally motivated to learn a new language, a new game or a new type of play, and are open to diversity. She confirmed with her pilot project at the Spanish Club that kids in Primary School were eager to learn a new language. In fact, due to the high success of her pilot project, the Spanish club was extended to 4th, 5th and 6th class.
